Summer Landscape Cooling Ideas
- Add a water feature. This could be as small as a fountain or waterfall, or as extensive as a pond or pool. Whether or not you get in the water, adding a feature to your landscape can help keep it cool and also create a soothing aesthetic that makes a difference in the summer heat.
- Strategic landscaping. Plant trees around your patio or home’s exterior to provide additional shade. Also consider replacing gravel, concrete, or pavers with grass, bark, or wood chips to help significantly reduce the temperature.
- Implement a misting system. These come in many different models and can be installed overhead or in the ground depending on your needs and preference.
