Now is the ideal time of year to start considering and planning for your home spring maintenance.

PrivacyLink can help in the process when it comes to everything fence related—including upgrading chainlink by adding fence slats and so much more.

Outdoor Maintenance To-Do’s

  • Clear your roof and rain gutters of debris.

  • Inspect your fence for any damage or needed maintenance. Now is also a great opportunity to upgrade, like by adding fence slats to chain link fencing.

  • Do thorough winter clean up. This includes removing dead leaves, grass, pinecones, debris, and anything else on your lawn and in your flower beds. Put on some gloves to clean up by hand, and consider using a rake as well.

  • Inspect the foundation of your home for any cracks or imperfections.

  • Remove any dead stalks, leaves, or blooms from plants, shrubs, and flowers using pruning shears.

  • Reseal wood elements like decks, pergolas, and trim.

  • Weed flower beds.

  • Fertilize grass and flower beds using compost or a chemical fertilizer.

  • Check concrete and asphalt around your home for cracks that need patched.

  • Plant trees, shrubs, and perennial flowers. Wait until the frost season has for sure passed before planting annuals.

  • Have your home inspected and treated for bugs and other pests.

  • Mow and edge your lawn.

  • Test the irrigation system in your yard for any brittle or broken pipes or damaged sprinkler heads.

  • Paint or repair the exterior of your home.
